**In honor of New York Spring 09 fashion week, which is taking placing in Bryant Park this week, I'm doing my dutiful job and previewing all the shows. I've rounded up a few micro-trends that have stood out to me so far, and this week I'll be posting them here and at Neu Black for your enjoyment.**
Frank Stella, "Double V Pinstripe"
These days, most things tend to eddy in the gray areas - morally, politically, socially. It's no wonder that plenty of designers sent those ambiguously mixed messages down the runways in the form of muddied neutrals, yet where else but in fashion are you finally able to see clearly? It's a black and white issue for Spring 2009, and the only thing to decide is: prints or solids?
