Fashion Week Roundup: Give 'em the ol' Razzle-Dazzle / by laurel

**In honor of New York Spring 09 fashion week, which is taking placing in Bryant Park this week, I'm doing my dutiful job and previewing all the shows. I've rounded up a few micro-trends that have stood out to me so far, and this week I'll be posting them here and at Neu Black for your enjoyment.**

Jil Sander Spring 2007

One of my favorite looks from the Spring 2007 Ready-To-Wear shows were the shimmering sequined shifts Raf Simons sent down the runway for Jil Sander. Like rainbows appearing in a mist of water, the dresses and skirts seemed to materialize out of nothing, anchored only by the clean pressed shirts and sleek visages of the models wearing them. This year, fellow designers took a hint from Simons' ethereal pieces and created sparkling phantasms of their own. It's a look that's one part disco ball, one part prism-light, and every part stunning.
